At Whitby, we encourage parents to take an active role in their child's education and offer a wide range of opportunities to get involved. Together, we create a vibrant, supportive environment where students thrive!!
Events & Parenting Workshops
Parenting can be hard, but you don’t have to face it alone! That’s why we host workshops throughout the year to support you at every stage of your child’s development. From exploring the power of play for our youngest learners to building executive functioning skills and ensuring digital safety, these sessions are designed to empower you with practical tools and insights. Plus, they’re a great opportunity to connect with other Whitby parents and build lasting, supportive networks.
Connecting with the Community
The opportunities to come on campus or gather with other parents are endless! Here’s a glimpse:
Special Visit Days: Each year, grandparents, parents, and special friends are invited to visit classrooms at different times to see firsthand how we’re preparing students to be future-ready.
Student-Led Assemblies: Experience the pride of seeing your child take center stage as they showcase their classroom learnings in presentations entirely prepared and delivered by the students.
Grade-Level Coffees: Hosted by the Head of School and Section Heads throughout the school year, these coffees allow parents to meet for casual conversations and make new connections with other parents.
Annual Gala: Our signature fundraising event brings parents together for an unforgettable evening of celebration, connection, and community spirit. (add photos)
Mayfair: A cherished Whitby tradition for over XX years, this annual family day happens every third Saturday in May. Enjoy games, activities, delicious food, and quality time with other families.

Volunteerism at Whitby – Making a Difference!
As a Whitby Parents’ Association member, you’ll have countless opportunities to get involved and help create unforgettable experiences for our students. Whether you have a little time or a special talent to share, there’s a place for you to contribute!

- Being a classroom mystery reader: Surprise students with a fun and engaging storytime.
- Welcoming new families: Be the friendly face that helps others feel at home in our community.
- Sharing your cultural experiences: Celebrate diversity by bringing your traditions to life for our students.
- Leading an event: Take the reins and make an impact by chairing one of our exciting event
- Lending a hand: Grab an ice cream scoop and put a small on a small face at one of our family socials
