Busing is available for students in Primary 3 through Grade 8 who live in Greenwich and Stamford. Families interested in busing
to/from New York State should confirm with their local school district the availability of transportation services for their child(ren) to Whitby.
It's also easy to form a carpool with other Whitby School families. Current Whitby families can sign in to the Veracross Parent Portal, click on “Directory” (with the @ symbol) at the top of the page, choose the "Nearby Families" tab, and a list of families living near you will be shown.

Whitby’s comprehensive Middle School Community Service program aims to expand students’ view of themselves and the world, develop empathy, humility and leadership skills, and come to understand that through their individual actions they can positively impact the lives of others. Whitby’s comprehensive Secondary School Counseling Program provides each student with a personalized school selection process that ensures they will find the ‘best fit’ for their academic and personal goals. The program emphasizes interview skills, test preparation and Admissions seminars, resulting in Whitby graduates attending a variety of highly selective secondary schools. This year, Whitby School will host three Open Houses. Pleases click here for the details. Open Houses are a fantastic way for prospective families to see the Whitby campus, learn about our compelling continuum, as well as meet staff, faculty and current students.
As part of the application process, students are invited to visit classrooms. The dates are scheduled in the late fall and times vary depending on the age of the student and the grade to which they are applying.
Virtual Overviews are also available upon request throughout the year.
Required testing depends on the age of the child applying to attend Whitby. Once you have submitted an inquiry form, you will be able to access the Admissions Portal which includes a comprehensive list of all necessary testing and required forms.
Whitby School believes that qualified students who desire an education should not be denied that opportunity because of economic hardship. Thus, we are proud to offer financial aid (for new and existing Whitby families) that helps us provide a balanced school community and at the same time keep the school financially healthy. Please note that financial aid application for new families can only be processed if the student’s admissions application is complete.
Tuition Assistance is available beginning in Primary 3 (Kindergarten). The student application fee is waived for families applying for financial aid.
Financial aid awards are considered based completion of the Financial Aid Application by the deadline as well as submission of requisite financial information.
All financial aid applicants must also complete the Clarity Application for financial aid.
Families are also encouraged to file their tax returns prior to the Financial Aid documents submission deadline. Final financial aid awards decisions cannot be made until the school has received and verified the parent's tax returns as filed with the IRS. Award decisions will be determined and communicated to families around the enrollment notification date. All financial aid information is kept strictly confidential and we expect families receiving financial aid to respect the confidentiality of the process.
